Appena arrivati al Passo di Lavazè, alle nostre spalle appaiono da sx. il Catinaccio centralmente il Latemar e a dx. la Pala di Santa.

L’hotel Schwarzhorn alle pendici del Corno Nero al Passo di Oclini. Nei dintorni si trova il parco Greta & Gummer, allestito con giochi colorati e gommosi, con montagne di neve su cui scatenarsi è un’area recintata di oltre 100 mq, dove anche i genitori possono godere del sole sulle sdraio senza perdere d’occhio i bambini.

È un’ampia sella prativa con ampie radure e boschi di conifere, che mette in comunicazione la Val d´Ega con la Val di Fiemme, ed è sovrastata dalla Pala di Santa (2488 metri).

Sotto il Corno Bianco si diramano due sentieri che conducono entrambi alla gola del Bletterbach. Questi luoghi hanno dato luogo nei secoli ad una leggenda. Un tempo, tra il Corno Bianco e il Corno Nero sul passo Oclini, viveva un gigante di nome Grimm. Scelse come sposa Hilde, la bella figlia di un nobiluomo della Val d’Ega: la rapì e la porto con sé nel suo palazzo tra le montagne. Per riprendere la figlia rapita, il padre di Hilde chiese aiuto ad un cavaliere celebre in tutta la regione, Dietrich von Bern, che sfidò a duello Grimm e lo sconfisse presso la chiusa di Salorno. Infuriato, il gigante si ritirò nelle sue proprietà deciso di affrontare i cavalieri che stavano salendo al passo Oclini per liberare Hilde. Per fermare i nemici, Grimm si mise a scagliare su di loro enormi rocce prese dalle montagne circostanti. Non si accorse però che i massi che stava lanciando erano le fondamenta del Corno Bianco che, senza più sostegno, crollò improvvisamente sopra i cavalieri, seppellendo anche Grimm e la sua sposa. Fu una vera strage e il sangue dei morti macchiò di rosso tutta la parete sottostante la cima del Corno Bianco. Una macchia che non si sarebbe mai più cancellata. Ancora oggi, infatti, lascia a bocca aperta il contrasto tra il rosso delle rocce del Bletterbach e il bianco immacolato della cima del Corno Bianco.

Two paths lead off the Corno Bianco and lead to the Bletterbach gorge. These places have given rise to a legend over the centuries. At one time, a giant named Grimm lived between the Corno Bianco and the Corno Nero on the Oclini pass. He chose as a bride Hilde, the beautiful daughter of a nobleman from the Val d’Ega: he kidnapped her and took her with him to her palace in the mountains. To recapture the kidnapped daughter, Hilde’s father asked for help from a famous knight throughout the region, Dietrich von Bern, who challenged a duel to Grimm and defeated him at the Salorno lock. Enraged, the giant retreated into his property decided to face the knights who were climbing to the Oclini pass to free Hilde. To stop the enemies, Grimm began to hurl huge rocks from the surrounding mountains on them. He did not notice, however, that the rocks he was launching were the foundations of the White Horn, which, without support, suddenly collapsed above the knights, burying Grimm and his bride. It was a real massacre and the blood of the dead red stained the whole wall below the summit of the White Horn. A stain that would never be deleted. Even today, in fact, the contrast between the red of the Bletterbach rocks and the immaculate white of the Corno Bianco summit leaves you speechless.

Collegata all’area si trova la pista per le slitte, bob e snowbike, che scendono da un declivio di circa 180 mt per consentire discese adrenaliniche, senza stancarsi troppo in quanto la risalita si fa sul comodo nastro trasportatore.

Connected to the area is the track for sleds, bobsleighs and snowbikes, which descend from a slope of approximately 180 meters to allow adrenaline-filled descents, without getting too tired as the ascent is done on the convenient conveyor belt.
Qualcuno ci ha preceduti nel percorso attorno al laghetto che dovrebbe essere ghiacciato, ma nel dubbio ci teniamo a debita distanza.

Il passo di Lavazè è un valico alpino a 1.808 metri s.l.m., nel territorio del comune di Varena in provincia di Trento.

Il Gruppo del Catinaccio.
Per iniziativa del gruppo Alpini di Varena col sostegno del Comune, Provincia Autonoma di Trento, Magnifica Comunità e agli operatori turistici del Passo Lavazè, nel 1976 venne realizzato questo piccolo edificio sacro tra larici ed abeti, a pochi passi dalla strada che porta a Passo Oclini e al complesso sciistico. Una costruzione moderna rivestita in porfido, con un caratteristico campanile in cemento intonacato costituito da una modesta torre priva di tetto e ospitante un’unica campana. L’ingresso è laterale, mentre la pianta interna è centrale, con un basso soffitto.

On the initiative of the Alpini group of Varena with the support of the Municipality, the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Magnifica Comunità and the tourist operators of Passo Lavazè, in 1976 this small sacred building was built among larches and fir trees, a few steps from the road that leads to Passo Oclini and the ski complex. A modern building covered in porphyry, with a characteristic plastered concrete bell tower consisting of a modest tower without a roof and hosting a single bell. The entrance is lateral, while the internal plan is central, with a low ceiling.
